Thanks to generous support from The Musser Fund, we awarded two scholarships to teen writers in Wyoming who have demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm in developing their writing craft.
Aspiring young writer, Emmaline Vrska, who participated in our Young Authors Writing Camps, clearly demonstrated her dedication and enthusiasm for writing, earning herself a scholarship to attend the 2019 Jackson Hole Writers Conference.
Q: What kind of writing do you most enjoy?
A: I enjoy writing fantasy, particularly contemporary, urban, and intrusion, along with realistic fiction and a little bit of poetry when I have the time. (Although, I don’t have much between soccer, my first year of high school, and our school’s musical.)
Q: What are you most looking forward to about the June conference?
A: With one short story I wrote at age ten already published and a novel going through editing right now, I’m looking forward to getting the chance to interact with other writers, to learn from them, and to be able to hone my own craft. I know that the experiences I gain from the conference will impact my future writing and will make me even better as an author. This scholarship I’m receiving makes it so much easier for me to be able to attain these valuable experiences that will last a lifetime.
We are eager to work with Emmaline at this year’s conference. For more information on our kids programs, click the link.
